FORMAT:

The qualifying round will be 18 holes of four-ball net stroke play (two-person better ball).

During qualifying, the lowest Handicap Index from the June 1 to August 15 revisions will be used to calculate each player’s Course Handicap. If a player’s lowest Handicap Index from June 1 to August 15 is above 18.4, he or she will play down to 18.4. Men will receive 90% and women will receive 95% of their Course Handicap. After the reduction, if partners’ Course Handicaps differ by more than eight strokes, an additional 10% reduction will be applied to their Course Handicaps. Additionally, every player’s scoring file is reviewed by SCGA staff. The SCGA Rules and Competitions Committee reserves the right to adjust a player’s Course Handicap at any time prior to or during the competition.

Qualifying teams will advance to the 40th SCGA Four-Ball Net Championship at Olivas Links in Ventura on Monday – Tuesday, September 30 – October 1, 2019. The final number of qualifying spots at each site will be available from the Committee on the day of play. In the event of a tie for the last qualifying place or an alternate's position, the USGA-suggest method of matching scorecards will be used to break all ties starting with Holes 10 – 18 (see Section 5 of the Committee Procedures).

REGISTRATION:

There will be no formal registration at this event. Players must check in with the Pro Shop if they wish to rent a golf cart.

STARTING TIMES AND PAIRINGS:

Starting times and pairings will be e-mailed to players and posted online at scga.org one week in advance of the tournament. Starting times will range from 7:30 a.m. to approximately 11:30 a.m.

Players are encouraged to arrive at their assigned tee well in advance of their starting time, as the SCGA starter will have information to discuss and distribute to each player in the group. Furthermore, players arriving late will be penalized under Rule 5.3a of the Rules of Golf. For example, the 9:00 a.m. starting time is defined as 9:00:00, and players arriving after that time are considered late. Lead groups should plan to be at their assigned tee 10 minutes in advance of their starting time. Subsequent groups are encouraged to arrive in time to watch the group in front of them tee off.
